Open File Explorer → This PC.

Click Map network drive (top ribbon or “…” → Map network drive).

Drive: pick a letter (e.g., Z:).

Folder: type the UNC path to the share, e.g. \fileserver\Shared

Format: \<share-name> (e.g., \10.2.0.5\Engineering)

Check Reconnect at sign-in to make it persistent.

(Optional) Check Connect using different credentials if you need a different user than your current Windows logon.

Click Finish → enter Username and Password if prompted.

Domain account: DOMAIN\username

Local account on the server: SERVERNAME\username
